Tree Planting in Retford and Surrounding Areas

Sustainable Bassetlaw are working with the Rotary Club of Retford to commemorate the historic links of the area to the Mayflower Pilgrims of 1620 by seeking to plant 1,620 trees in the Retford area.

Retford’s link to the forest extends back to Sherwood Forest. As the area seeks to improve it’s local environment and make an increasingly positive contribution to decarbonisation, this tree planting scheme provides one avenue for local people to make a positive difference. Our tree planting will be completed on a project by project basis, with a vision of numerous community level tree planting schemes over the period 2020-2021. Trees will be sourced from local companies.

We will be collecting aluminium cans which will be sold to raise money to purchase the trees.

The collection boxes will be placed around town.
Locations will be announced soon!
